<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trend data management device and a trend data management method surely and minutely storing values of trend data changed instantaneously. <P>SOLUTION: In this trend data management device, a trend data acquisition unit 11 acquires trend data of an apparatus to be monitored in a first time period. A rate-of-change determination unit 12 determines whether a rate of change between the latest trend data and the one before the latest trend data exceeds a threshold or not. A storage control unit 13 determines whether the rate of change exceeding the threshold is detected during a monitoring period in a second time period that is a longer time period than the first time period. When the rate of change exceeding the threshold is not detected, the storage control unit acquires the trend data in the second time period and, when detected, acquires the trend data in the first time period.
