<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to reduce the number of ammeters in a power converter. <P>SOLUTION: A power converter contains a soft switching converter which has a chopper circuit comprising a main circuit containing a main reactor and a main switching element, and an auxiliary circuit containing an auxiliary reactor and an auxiliary switching element, and performs a soft switching operation which controls the voltage applied to the main switching element when the main switching element is turned on by a switching operation at the auxiliary switching element, an ammeter for measuring a main-reactor current which is the current passing through the main reactor, and a calculating unit for calculating the current supplied to the soft switching converter based on the measured main-reactor current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
