摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope control device and a method for determining a processing range capable of disposing an observation object within a detectable range of a defocus amount at a high speed in a defocus amount detecting process using a phase difference optical system. <P>SOLUTION: This microscope control device in accordance with the present invention includes: a drive control unit that controls driving for at least either of a stage or a lens-barrel of a microscope for capturing an enlarged image of a sample to adjust a focal position of the sample; an evaluation value calculation unit that calculates evaluation values of focusing degrees, at a local area in a phase difference image, of a plurality of phase difference images of the sample captured by the microscope at the plurality of focal positions respectively; and a processing range determination unit that determines the processing range of the defocus amount detecting process for detecting the defocus amount of the sample using the phase difference images based on the calculated evaluation value of the focusing degree. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
