<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio receiver and a radio reception method that can inexpensively detect noise superimposed on an AM signal. <P>SOLUTION: A radio receiver 1 includes an AM band limiting filter 10, an FM band limiting filter 14, an AM detector 11, an FM detector 15, a noise determination section 12 and a noise processing section 13. The AM band limiting filter 10 passes an AM band signal out of an IF signal generated from a received AM signal. The FM band limiting filter 14 passes an FM band signal out of the IF signal. The AM detector 11 detects an amplitude change of the AM band signal. The FM detector 15 detects a frequency change of the FM band signal. The noise determination section 12 determines whether or not noise is superimposed on the IF signal on the basis of the frequency change detected by the FM detector. If the noise determination section 12 determines that noise is superimposed on the IF signal, the noise processing section 13 eliminates the noise. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
