POLYMER BLENDS FOR SLIT FILM APPLICATIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

Films and processes of forming the same are described herein. The processes generally include providing a propylene-based polymer; contacting the propylene-based polymer with polylactic acid in the presence of a modifier to form a polymeric blend, wherein the modifier is selected from epoxy-functionalized polyolefins, maleic anhydride modified polyolefins, ethylene-niethacrylate copolymers, styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene (SEBS) polymers, and combinations thereof; forming the polymeric blend into a film; and monoaxially orienting the film.
