<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that offers an excellent image without image stains even after a recording material is jammed at a fixing part. <P>SOLUTION: An post-fixing discharge unit 320 is movably provided between a proximity position where a separation sheet metal 321 is in the proximity of a fixing belt 220, and a retracted position where the separation sheet metal 321 retracts from the fixing belt 220.
