<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a cooling fan without providing a temperature detection element inside a communication apparatus and cool the communication apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The rotating speed of a cooling fan 2 is controlled in accordance with the number of devices connected to ports 112 to 115 of a packet transmitting/receiving part 11 and a connection speed with that device. When the number of ports establishing a link at a speed of 1 Gbps is zero, the voltage value of power output from a power source block 12 to the cooling fan 2 is 0 V and the cooling fan 2 is deactivated. When the number of ports establishing a link at a speed of 1 Gbps is one or two, the voltage value is 8 V and the cooling fan 2 rotates in a slow mode. Furthermore, when the number of ports establishing a link at a speed of 1 Gbps is three or four, the voltage value is 12 V and the cooling fan 2 rotates in a fast mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
