PURPOSE: A negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery including thereof are provided to increase cycle lifetime. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material(10) for a lithium secondary battery comprises core(1) including crystalline carbon, metal nanoparticles(3) which are located on surface of the core, MOx nano particles(5) (here, X can be from 0.5 to 1.5 and M is Si, Sn, In, Al, or a combination thereof), and coating layer(7) including amorphous carbon which covers surface of the core, metal nanoparticle, and MOx nano particles. A mixing ratio of the metal nanoparticle to the MOx nanoparticle is 9 : 1 to 2: 8. An average particle diameter of the metal nanoparticle is 50-800nm.
