<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print out image data using other devices even if an image forming apparatus such as a copying apparatus is used by some other persons, or failure, etc occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The digital copying apparatus includes an network interface 7 communicating with an external host apparatus (personal computer or work station 11), and a memory for storing image data and operation mode data received through the network interface, and prints out the image data on a printer section 2 in accordance with the operation mode.
