<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a rainfall onto a plurality of raindrop receiving surfaces over a wide range in simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A raindrop detection apparatus includes: a plurality of planar shock receiving means 1 for receiving shocks of raindrops; tubular propagation means 2 installed in tight contact with a rear side of the shock receiving means 1; vibration detection means 3 for detecting shocks of raindrops propagated from the shock receiving means 1 through the propagation means 2; and control means 5 for outputting a signal of rainfall start upon receiving a signal from the vibration detection means 3.
