RETAINER AND NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an M-shaped retainer that prevents a sinking phenomenon of a roller while securing a retainer rib width relating to retainer strength and can be inexpensively manufactured by press working.

SOLUTION: The retainer comprises a cylindrical body having a plurality of pockets 13 that are circumferentially provided so as to store a needle roller via each column 12. The cylindrical body is configured to have an M-shaped cross section that includes each rib 15 formed at each of both ends of an outer diameter cylindrical part 14 and bent to the inner diameter side, and a recessed part 16 formed at the axial central part and recessed in a V-shape toward the inner diameter side. The cylindrical body is also configured to have each bent-in part 15b formed at the tip on the inner diameter side of each rib 15 so as to be bent inside the axial direction.
