<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission, without imparting a sense of incongruity to a driver by a shift in a manual mode. <P>SOLUTION: This continuously variable transmission connected with a variator (20) and a sub-transmission mechanism (30) shifts the sub-transmission mechanism (30) while changing the gear ratio of the variator (20) in response to a change in the gear ratio of the sub-transmission mechanism (30) so that the through gear ratio does not change, after the through gear ratio is caused to reach the target gear ratio by changing only the gear ratio of the variator (20), when the gear ratio corresponding to a shift instruction from the driver is between the first gear ratio and the second gear ratio, when the manual mode is selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
