The carbon dioxide control system (1) has carbon dioxide concentration in a mixture of fresh air (8) and re-conducted and filtered exhaust gas (23) in a segment (3-2) of an intake passage (3) by regulating a flow rate of re-conducted and filtered exhaust gas by a re-conducting device. The re-conducting device is provided for regulating filtered exhaust gas based on an oxygen sensor (13). The oxygen sensor is arranged in the segment of the intake passage. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating the oxygen concentration in intake passage of a combustion engine.
