<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel which is made light in weight and compact, and has high air tightness of a seal resulting in improvement in bearing durability. <P>SOLUTION: An outer member 2 and a hub wheel are made of a pipe material by plastic working, a seal 21 is fixed to the opening of a circular space formed between the outer member 2 and an inner member. The seal 21 comprises: a steel sheet-made core metal 23 having a cylindrical fitting part 23a fixed to the end inner peripheral surface 15 of the outer member 2 and an inner diameter part 23c extending diametrically inward from the cylindrical fitting part 23a; and a synthetic rubber-made seal member 24 which is joined to the core metal 23 as one body by vulcanization adhesion and which includes seal lips 24a, 24b and 24c. The seal member 24 is bonded from the inner diameter part 23c to the outer surface of the fitting part 23a, a fitting part 24d is unitedly formed in the seal member 24 and is elastically fitted to the end inner peripheral surface 15, and the fitting width A1 of the fitting part 24d is set larger than the fitting width A2 of the fitting part 23a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
