<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the drying rate of clothes in a rotary drum during a drying operation in a stepwise manner. <P>SOLUTION: In a clothes dryer, a first pair of electrodes 8 and a second pair of electrodes 9 are provided so as to be different from each other in the frequency of contact with clothes in a rotary drum 2 per unit time. When a drying operation is started, calculation means 12 performs a comparison operation between signals from first resistance detecting means 10 and second resistance detecting means 11 to detect the volume of the clothes in a stepwise manner from a large volume to a small volume, and switches a plurality of detection resistors according to the volume of the clothes and the drying rate of the clothes at the start of the operation, thereby detecting the drying rate of the clothes during the drying operation in a stepwise manner from a wet state to a dry state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
