<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a great number of new water-soluble polymers showing various solution thermal behaviors. <P>SOLUTION: The water-soluble polymers are preparable by free radical initiated polymerization of (A) one or more macromonomers represented by the formula (1): R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-Y-(R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>-O)x-R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, in which R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a vinyl, allyl, acrylic or methacrylic radical: R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is 2-4C alkylene; x is an integer of 1-500; Y is O, S, PH or NH; and R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>is H or a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic 1-30C hydrocarbon radical, (B) one or more olefinically unsaturated comonomers selected from acrylamidopropylmethylenesulfonic acid (AMPS) and/or a salt thereof having a monovalent or divalent counter ion, and (C) at least one crosslinking agent having at least two unsaturated double bonds, other than the monomers (A) and (B). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
