<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that the alignment of cathode and anode plates in a secondary battery will be maintained even when mechanical shock or vibration is applied to the electrode assembly from the outside, and to provide a manufacturing method of the secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary battery, disclosed as an example, includes an electrode assembly and an enclosure for accommodating the electrode assembly. The electrode assembly includes a first electrode current collector and a first electrode plate having a first electrode tab protruding from a negative side of the first electrode current collector, a second electrode current collector and a second electrode plate having a second electrode tab protruding from a negative side of the second electrode current collector, a first separator which is positioned between the first and second electrode plates and which includes a central part and an edge part on the periphery around the central part, and a second separator which is positioned at a negative side of the first or the second electrode plate on an opposite side of a plane facing the first separator and which includes a central part and an edge part on the periphery around the central part.
