<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jacket structure of an engine favorable to establish uniform temperature distribution. <P>SOLUTION: In the water jacket structure of engine, a water jacket 12 is defined and arranged between an outer circumference of the cylinder 10 of a cylinder block 1 containing a plurality of cylinders 10 arranged linearly and continually and the block exterior wall 11. A plurality of ribs 16 are raised into the water jacket 12 from its internal bottom and a space to admit passage of cooling water is formed at the forefront extremity, and by these ribs 16 the inner surface of the block exterior wall 11 is coupled with the circumferential surfaces of the cylinders 10. The height of ribs 16 in the water jacket 12 on the side where an exhaust manifold 6 is installed, is made larger than the height of the other ribs 16 in the water jacket 12 on the side where a suction manifold 5 is installed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
