<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a median filter circuit capable of realizing median filters in a plurality of sizes by a single circuit, and easily and properly correcting even the pixels at the end part of a picture data. <P>SOLUTION: The median filter circuit includes k (k=n×m, or at least one of n×m×r, n, m, and r is two or more) cells C which store a pixel value, a pixel value replacement circuit 12 which replaces a pixel value of invalid cell with a value equal to the minimum value or less, otherwise a value equal to the maximum value or larger of the pixel value of a valid cell, a sorting circuit 13 which sorts the pixel values down to i-th cell C in ascending order or descending order in terms of pixel value, a position specification circuit 14 which outputs ranking j of the pixel value used as a central value based on the number of valid cells e, and a central value output circuit 15 which outputs a pixel value of the cell having the ranking of j-th. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
