The invention relates to oil production technology, more specifically to downhole rod pumps, and can be used in the oil and gas industry for extracting high-viscosity fluids. The pump comprises a cylinder with a plunger consisting of two parts of different diameter. The pump has an inlet valve and an outlet valve and a sealing device in the form of a hermetically sealed chamber filled with a lubricating fluid, said chamber being formed by the side surface of the plunger and annular ledges on the inside surface of the cylinder, which are located in the middle portion of the cylinder and are provided with sealing rings that interact with the cylindrical side surface of the plunger. The length of the plunger is equal to or greater than the sum of the lengths of the hermetically sealed chamber and the maximum stroke of the plunger. The point at which the different diameters of the plunger meet is situated inside the hermetically sealed chamber filled with lubricating fluid. The result is an increase in operating efficiency when pumping high-viscosity fluid.
