METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PACKAGING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a long packaging material used for a packaging method capable of conducting package enabling gas sterilization after packaging using a widely used automatic packaging machine.

SOLUTION: The method for easily manufacturing the packaging material W includes: continuously supplying a band-like material 1 which is gas-permeable but not bacterium-permeable and a heat weldable synthetic resin film 2 having a width same as the whole width of the packaging material W; overlaying the heat weldable synthetic resin film 2 on the band-like material 1 so that both the center lines coincide with each other; cutting the heat weldable synthetic resin film 2 along both sides of the center lines while leaving the overlapped portion of both the side margins of the band-like material 1; integrally heat-welding the overlapped portion of both the side margins of the band-like material 1 and the synthetic resin film 2; and removing the cut center part of the heat weldable synthetic resin film 2. An object 3 to be packaged can be efficiently packaged with the packaging material W made according to the method by using the widely used packaging machine, and can be sterilized after being packaged by supplying sterilizing gas through the band-like material 1 into the package.
