The pixel readout integrated circuit for an image sensor of the present invention comprises: an amplification unit which converts an electric charge, that is generated from a photodiode when light falls incident thereon, into a voltage output signal; a sampling unit which outputs a sampling signal obtained by sampling the voltage output signal in accordance with a sampling-control signal; and a digital conversion unit which outputs a digital output signal obtained by digital conversion of the sampling signal.
