<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reduction of cost even for high pixel/high resolution when printing using a recording head, such as a thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a recording head 32 having a drive circuit which drives a plurality of recording elements and this recording element. Recording elements are divided into a plurality of blocks, and a drive circuit is associated with each block. The image forming apparatus is associated with the drive circuit and inludes the plurality of control ICs which carry out drive control of the drive circuit according to the image data sent from a CPU 34, and control IC parts are arranged mutually in parallel. Image data is distributed to the control ICs and the image data interpolation is performed between the control ICs which adjoin mutually. The control ICs synchronize mutually according to synchronizing signals sent from the CPU, and carry out drive control of the drive circuits. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
