<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and its control method which does not cause a timeout even if device searching is required over a wide range, and reduces the network traffic for the device searching. <P>SOLUTION: A searching FSA 308 which obtains and holds device information for every subnet is provided, and a CSB LM 302 managing a network device manages address information of the device searching FSA 308 existing in a network of subject of management. When a request for device searching is made by a client 309, the address information of the device searching FSA which corresponds to a searching range is replied.
