<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable realization of a retrieval service according to the kind of a terminal. <P>SOLUTION: An information retrieval method comprises the steps of: determining a type of a request source terminal with respect to a retrieval request; weighting and storing a selection history such that the order of retrieval results is changed depending upon retrieval conditions set corresponding to the selection history; and giving a greater weight to the selection history of a selected retrieval result in comparison with weights given to other terminal types in the case where the type of the request source terminal has a smaller number of the retrieval results, which can be displayed on one display screen, in comparison with those of the other terminal types, or where the type of the request source terminal has a troublesome problem in moving a display on the display screen in comparison with the other terminal types and the retrieval results are selected through a plurality of displays displayed on the display screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
