<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the deformation of a bent part formed in a side member. <P>SOLUTION: A side member structure 10 includes a front side member 12 forming a closed section with a vehicle body panel 30 and having a first bent part 18 which is bent upward of a vehicle, a flange 40 which extends along a flange part 28A formed on the first bent part 18 and is joined with the flange part 28A, and a reinforcing part 42 which is integrated with the flange 40, provided on a bottom wall part 26A side of the first bent part 18 from the flange part 28A in the closed section, and curved in a projecting manner to the flange part 28A side (an arrow A side).
