摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot that secures the stability during operation by a simple configuration, and to provide a method for controlling the same. <P>SOLUTION: The robot 1 includes: a robot body 11; an arm 12; a carriage 13; and a sensor 14. The arm 12 is coupled to the robot body 11 and includes at least either one of a joint mechanism and an extendable mechanism. The sensor 14 detects an object residing around the robot body 11.
