A stereoscopic image generation device for generating a stereoscopic image comprising a right-eye image and a left-eye image, said device being provided with: an image enlargement/reduction unit for enlarging and reducing the right-eye image and the left-eye image which form stereoscopic image data; and a display controller for presenting the right-eye image and the left-eye image of the stereoscopic image data to the right eye and the left eye, respectively, and performing control such that a stereoscopic image is displayed. The image enlargement/reduction unit enlarges and reduces the right-eye image and the left-eye image with reference to a right-eye image reference point and a left-eye image reference point and on the basis of parallax amount adjustment information which includes: the position of the right-eye image reference point and the position of the left-eye image reference point that are set at different positions corresponding to the right-eye image and the left-eye image; and enlargement ratios of the right-eye image and the left-eye image. As a result, position control in the depth direction can be facilitated while the parallax is adjusted.
