The purpose is to provide a three-dimensional image display device wherein flickering and cross-talking is reduced, the screen has a high luminance, and the resolution of the screen does not deteriorate. A three-dimensional image display device is provided with a liquid crystal display having a first image formation region and a second image formation region configured from a plurality of horizontal lines, and an optical means arranged with a first polarizing region and a second polarizing region in correspondence with the first and second image formation regions. A frame image displays a right-eye image on the first image formation region and a left-eye image on the second image formation region, and alternately switches or overwrites the image formation regions each time frames are switched. The phase differences between the first polarizing region and the second polarizing region of the optical means are switched in accordance with the switching timing of the first and second image formation regions on which the right-eye and left-eye images are displayed.
