<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sheet having an asymmetric brightness distribution, high brightness in a desired direction, and a wide angle of view, as well as a surface light source device and a transmission type display device equipped with the optical sheet, and a manufacturing method of the optical sheet. <P>SOLUTION: An optical sheet 15 of the present invention has convex unit optical shapes 151 at least on one side thereof arranged along a sheet surface in a single direction; the unit optical shape 151 is provided with a first face 152 and a second face 153 that are opposite across a peak t of the convex shape; the first face 152 and the second face 153 are rough surfaces having an irregular, fine and uneven shape; and the first face 152 has the higher value of surface roughness than that of the second face 153. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
