<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device obtaining good image quality with low power consumption as well as having the background of the device seen through in the stereoscopic image display device which can be observed by the naked eyes. <P>SOLUTION: The composition of the stereoscopic image display device includes: a light source emitting beams with directivity; beam scanning means 3 deflecting the beams emitted from the light source in an arbitrary direction based on a control signal; and a beam deflection optical system 4 deflecting the beams according to the position and angle of incident beams. In this case, a beam reproduction unit 2 is composed to have the light source, the beam scanning means 3 and the beam deflection optical system 4 fixed so that the positional relationships to each other are not moved.
