METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SORTING PIXEL DATA PRESENT IN PRINTING-DATA FLOW

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for sorting pixel data present in a printing-data flow which can sort the pixel data at high speed by a simple means, without requiring high calculation capacity corresponding to the sorting.

SOLUTION: The method and apparatus for sorting the pixel data present in the printing-data flow are provided. A data sorting memory configured to write in for each of lines and read out for each of rows is put into use. The pixel data is recorded for each of the lines into the data sorting memory in the arrival order of the printing data flow. With the read-out operation for each of the rows, the pixel data is sorted in order suitable for printing head control. Consequently, sorting can be performed only by one write-in process and one read-out process.
