<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impermeable wall in which the generation and growth of a crack are suppressed even when tensile loads by bending act thereon. <P>SOLUTION: An impermeable wall 10 is configured to surround the periphery of contaminated soil 12 with a wall body constituted by a soil improvement body 14. The soil improvement body 14 is constituted by mixing and agitating soil 18 (the one of non-contaminated soil) at an original position and cement milk by an auger. The soil improvement body 14 is also integrated with the adjacent soil improvement bodies 14 by partly overlapping the outer peripheries each other to form a continuous wall body having an impermeable performance. Lower part 14D of the soil improvement body is embedded in an impermeable layer 16 which is in the lower layer of the contaminated soil 12, and a head part 14U is formed higher than an upper surface 12U of the contaminated soil 12.
