DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING HANDRAIL DRIVING FORCE OF PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for diagnosing handrail driving force of a passenger conveyor that can easily and quickly diagnose the presence of abnormality in handrail driving force.

SOLUTION: The device for diagnosing handrail driving force of the passenger conveyor includes: a diagnosis start command unit 15 starting a diagnosis; a handrail speed measuring unit 17 measuring handrail speed; a driving motor torque measuring unit 18 measuring the torque of a driving motor 1; a handrail load member 14 applying a load to a handrail 8; a deviation computing unit for computing deviations from the handrail speed in a load applied state and a no-load state and from the torque of the driving motor 1 while giving a measuring command; and a diagnosis control unit 19 determining that the handrail driving force is normal when the deviation of the handrail speed is a predetermined value or more and the deviation of the torque of the driving motor 1 is a predetermined value or more and determining that the handrail driving force is abnormal when the deviation of the handrail speed is the predetermined value or more and the deviation of the torque of the driving motor 1 is less than the predetermined value.
