PURPOSE: A system for enabling a driver to easily operate a vehicle is provided to sense an object in a side of the vehicle by accelerating or decelerating the vehicle without attaching a sensor in the side. CONSTITUTION: A system for enabling a driver to easily operate a vehicle includes a front sensor(31), a side rear sensor(32), and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit determines the existence of an object(car1) in a side of the vehicle, an area out of the sensing area(F1,R1,R2) of the front sensor and the side rear sensor. A method for sensing a side of the vehicle includes the following steps. The electronic control unit receives a sensed signal in a corresponding sensing area from the frond sensor and the side rear sensor. The electronic control unit determines the existence of an object in a side of the vehicle, an area out of the sensing area of the front sensor and the side rear sensor by accelerating or decelerating the vehicle within a predefined range of speed.
