<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden on eyes of a user who sees an image by preventing a simultaneous output of a plurality of laser beams or by reducing the number of laser beams simultaneously output in a color image display using a time division display system. <P>SOLUTION: An image display apparatus 1 includes: laser light source devices 2-4 which output green, red and blue; a laser output control part 52 which outputs an output control signal for controlling output timing of a laser beam for each laser light source device; a drive control part 53 which outputs a drive control signal for controlling application of a driving current for each laser light source device based on the output control signal. Further, the drive control part stops the application of driving current based on the drive control signal for at least one laser light source device of the two or more laser light source devices when determining based on the output control signal that the output timing of laser beams of two or more laser light source devices are temporally overlapped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
