TIRE MASTER IMAGE GENERATION METHOD AND TIRE MASTER IMAGE GENERATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire master image generation method and a tire master image generation device for creating a master image from a tire to be an inspection target in each visual inspection so as not to make image processing means store master images of all tires to be a specimen in visual inspection of a tire.

SOLUTION: A tire master image generation method includes: a matching image extraction step for performing pattern matching for a captured image and extracting regions having a predetermined matching rate or greater as matching images; a matching rate search step for gradually increasing the pixel width of a model image and the pixel widths of the matching images in the same direction and with the same width to perform pattern matching of the model image and the matching images, and searching for changes of matching rates between the model image and the matching images; and a model image change step for changing the size of the model image to the pixel width of the model image when a matching rate is changed to a predetermined threshold value or smaller in the matching rate search step.
