The device has an actuator (8) reversibly movable from one switching position to another switching position by energizing a current coil unit (14) and a permanent magnet device (28) by degradation of magnetic force of the magnet device. The actuator is held in a defined shift position by a holding unit before triggering movement process of the actuator. A pressure spring (40) pre-tensions the actuator in the shift position. The actuator is guided in a guide pipe (6) arranged on a guide sleeve (24) i.e. pole piece, where the guide pipe is made of non magnetic material i.e. plastic.
