PURPOSE: An image display device with a built-in touch screen panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a sensing pattern for touch sensing on the upper side of an upper substrate of the image display device, thereby unifying the touch screen panel and a display panel. CONSTITUTION: Black matrices(63) are arranged in a display area between pixels and in a non display area of the outside of the display area. A plurality of sensing patterns(120) is formed on the upper side of the display area. A plurality of sensing wires is formed on the non display area. The sensing wires are connected with the sensing patterns in a first direction or second direction. Shading patterns(160) cover sealing areas in which the black matrices are open.
