<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which is inserted to and extracted from a connector housing with good workability of insertion and extraction without application of unnatural force thereto. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connector 10 includes a housing 15 where a ferrule 12 is stored, a coupling 2, a coupling engaging member 3 provided on the rear side of the housing 15, and a boot 4 which is attached to the coupling engaging member 3 and extends backward. When the optical connector 10 is inserted to a connector housing, the coupling engaging member 3 is brought into contact with the housing 15 in a first position and is pressed forward to be brought close to the connector housing, whereby the optical connector is inserted to the connector housing. When the optical connector 10 is extracted from the connector housing, the coupling engaging member 3 and the coupling 2 are engaged with each other in a second position behind the first position by an engagement structure 6, and the engaged coupling engaging member 3 is separated from the connector housing, whereby the optical connector is extracted from the connector housing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
