<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladle preheating device which does not worsen the environment in a factory and is truly excellent in terms of heating energy efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The ladle preheating device includes a ladle 1 having, at an upper portion thereof, an opening as a spout for molten metal, a sealing lid 2 for closing the opening to seal the ladle 1, and an anode electrode 3 and a cathode electrode 4 inserted through the sealing lid 2 to the ladle 1. An arc is generated between the anode electrode 3 and the cathode electrode 4 to heat the inside of the ladle 1.
