<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost balancer shaft which significantly improves the silence of an engine by reducing the weight thereof and increasing the unbalance amount, while exhibiting excellent durability (rigidity) and posture stability. <P>SOLUTION: The balancer shaft includes: shaft bodies 4a, 6a which rotate around rotation shafts 4r, 6r; annular journals 4b, 6b supported by a housing freely rotatably by a bearing 10; and balanced weights 4d, 6d set at a position where the centers of gravity of them are off-centered from the rotation shafts. A rolling surface Rs which is supported by the bearing and rolls along the bearing is continuously formed along a circumferential direction on the outer circumference of the cut journals. Each of the journal includes a recessed part 12 which is formed deeper than other surfaces by partially cutting off the center of the rolling surface along the circumferential direction and which is disposed on the side opposite to the center of gravity of balanced weight with respect to the rotation shaft of the shaft body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
