<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a top margin of a transfer material by accelerating the optimization of a transfer load even when an image on a belt-like image carrier is transferred to a transfer material using a transfer roller on the peripheral surface of which a recessed part is formed. <P>SOLUTION: When a recessed part of an intermediate transfer belt 31 and a backup roller 33 of the intermediate transfer belt 31 face each other, an opposed part 31a of the intermediate transfer belt 31 wound around the backup roller 33 of the intermediate transfer belt 31 is located at an axial center side of the intermediate transfer belt 31 from the virtual peripheral surface in which the peripheral surface of a secondary transfer roller 4 of the intermediate transfer belt 31 is extended to the recessed part of the intermediate transfer belt 31. When the peripheral surface of the secondary transfer roller 4 of the intermediate transfer belt 31 except for the recessed part of the intermediate transfer belt 31 and the backup roller 33 of the intermediate transfer belt 31 face each other, the opposed part 31a of the intermediate transfer belt 31 is pressurized across a transfer material by the transfer belt 31 to the peripheral surface of the secondary transfer roller 4 with the backup roller 33 of the intermediate transfer belt 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
