[Problem] To provide a solid fuel that uses waste wood, used paper, a binder, a shape-holding agent, and a caloric augmentation agent in a balanced manner, has a stable heat release value, and suppresses the generation of carbon dioxide. [Solution] The solid fuel is characterized by being formed from a mixture of small wood pieces having a size of 1-50 mm, small paper pieces having a size of 1-50 mm, the binder, the shape-holding agent, and the caloric augmentation agent, and by said mixture comprising and being formed from 55-85 parts by weight of the caloric augmentation agent, shape-holding agent, and binder for every total of 15-45 parts by weight of the small wood pieces and the small paper/natural fiber pieces, with the ratio of the small wood pieces to the small paper pieces by weight being 20:80-80:20. |
