FABRICATION PROCESS FOR THE CARBON SOURCE COATED SILICON CARBIDE COMPOSITE POWDER AND REACTION BONDED SILICON CARBIDE SINTERED BODY

PURPOSE: A carbon source coated silicon carbide composite powder, a manufacturing method thereof, and a manufacturing method of reaction-bonded silicon carbide sintered body are provided to manufacture the silicon carbide composite powder which is uniformly coated with carbon source without coherence of carbon-powder. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a carbon source coated silicon carbide composite powder comprises the following steps: dispersing carbon-powder and thermosetting resin into organic solvent; mixing the silicon carbide powder in the dispersed solution; and mixing and milling the slurry solution in order to dry. The thermosetting resin is furfuryl alcohol resin, epoxy resin, or phenol resin. The carbon-powder is used in 50-500 parts by weight and the thermosetting resin is used in 20 -200 parts by weight based on 100.0 parts by weight of the organic solvent. The silicon carbide powder is added in 700-3000 parts by weight based on 100.0 parts by weight of carbon-powder.
