<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering copper concentrate capable of lowering iron grade and enhancing copper grade in the copper concentrate consisting essentially of copper pyrite, which has the problem of increased slug and sulphur generated in a refining process and causing the increase of the production cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for treating the copper concentrate, copper concentrate particles consisting essentially of copper pyrite (CuFeS<SB POS="POST">2</SB>) are reacted with sulphur (S) in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature of 350-400°C. After the concentrate particles consisting of conversion-reacted covellite (CuS) and pyrite (FeS<SB POS="POST">2</SB>) are treated by ore grinding, the covellite and pyrite particles liberated from the concentrate particles are subjected to classification treatment at a 2-10 μm classification point so that the low iron grade fine particles of 2-10 μm are collected.
