<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new drug-metabolizing enzyme of a monkey becoming a cause of the difference of drug metabolism patterns between humans and the monkeys. <P>SOLUTION: This protein originated from the monkey, which is the drug-metabolizing enzyme consisting of an amino acid sequence selected from a specific sequence group, or in the above amino acid sequence, consisting of the amino acid sequence obtained by substituting, deleting, adding and/or inserting one or several amino acids is provided. A gene encoding the protein, a recombinant vector including the gene and a transformant containing the vector are also provided. A method for measuring the presence or absence of involvement of the above protein in the metabolism of a test substance is provided by comprising a step of bringing the protein into contact with the test substance.
