<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical bowed string instrument that enable chord playing that can be accomplished with a fretted instrument while retaining advantages of a bowed string instrument enjoyable as an electrical bowed string instrument. <P>SOLUTION: An electrical bowed string instrument 100 has components including a main body 110, a neck 120, a head 130 and a plurality of strings 140. The strings 140 are so supported by a bridge 112 as to have the faces thereof to be convexly curved. The upper face of the neck 120 has a fingerboard 121 and frets 122 that determine tone pitches. The fingerboard 121 and the faces of the strings 140 are formed to be substantially planar shaped in a low position 120a of the neck 120 and it is possible to generate chords by fret-aided bowed chord performance using the frets 122 in addition to fret-aided bowed monotone performance. On the other hand, in a high position 120b of the neck 120, the fingerboard 121 and the faces of the strings 140 are formed to be convexly curved and no frets 122 are planted to enable fret-unaided bowed performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
