<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having a conveyance path for upward conveyance from a developer stirring part to a developing part, which is capable of suppressing the deterioration of a developer in the developing part and further, the degradation of image quality by reducing the retaining amount of the developer in the bent part of the conveyance path just after the start of conveyance, thereby reducing a conveyance load related to air conveyance. <P>SOLUTION: In such a configuration that the developer after being used for development is discharged from the developing part 3 for visualizing an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier and introduced into the developer stirring part 40 and the developer and replenished toner are stirred and mixed to obtain a predetermined electrification state and returned to the developing part 3 through an upward conveyance path 31 by the air conveyance, the bent part 31a in which a conveyance direction is changed upward is provided at two places in the upward conveyance path 31.
