The present invention provides a movement sensor system 10 for a trailer and, in particular, a caravan 11. The movement sensor system 10 comprises a number of proximity sensors 12 which are mounted along the rear bumper of the caravan 11. The proximity sensors 12 are in accordance with proximity parking sensors which are mounted on the bumpers of cars in car parking sensors. The movement sensor system 10 includes independent power supply means 40 which is mounted within the caravan 11 which thereby ensures that the movement sensing system 10 is independent from the power generally supplied from the towing vehicle and enables the present invention to be fully operational whilst the caravan 11 is unhitched from the towing vehicle. |
